Every day, mobile teams make over two thousand home visits to outpatients with CVI. Timur Muratov, head of the city's public health department, spoke about the situation with the treatment of patients with coronavirus at a briefing in the Central Communications Service, Kazpravda.kz reports with reference to the official website of the city akimat.
“As of October 12, in primary health care organizations, 2,573 patients are receiving treatment for coronavirus infection and 16 people with probable cases - on an outpatient basis. Every day, mobile teams make about two thousand home visits to outpatients to monitor treatment,” said Timur Muratov.
According to him, today in the city 758 children diagnosed with CVI receive outpatient treatment and 48 - inpatient treatment; there are no severe cases among children in the capital.
The head of the city health department also explained how the planned hospitalization and treatment of patients in the capital's hospitals will be restored.
“Many citizens are now concerned about the suspension of planned hospitalization and treatment in city hospitals, which were used as COVID hospitals. At the peak of the incidence, this was a necessary and forced measure. On October 6, planned hospitalization in round-the-clock and day hospitals was resumed for the multidisciplinary city hospital No. 2, and this week, our 1st city hospital will start taking patients for planned treatment, which in July was redesigned into an infectious diseases hospital and treated more than 4 thousand patients,” - said the speaker.
The head physician of the capital also recalled the flu season, the beginning of which coincided with an increase in CVI cases.
“This year, the epidemiological situation is complicated by the fact that the period of seasonal flu coincided with an increase in coronavirus infection. Both viruses are respiratory, so it is important to get vaccinations on time, as they reduce the likelihood of infection with viruses and protect against complications of the disease. It can be emphasized that thanks to vaccination and the development of herd immunity, the incidence rate decreases, we are gradually returning to the previous way of life and quarantine measures are softened. Vaccination of citizens against influenza also continues as a preventive measure,” he concluded.
