COVID-19 pandemic made Kazakhstanis change their attitude to health workers, the Minister of Health, Aleksey Tsoi said, congratulating health workers on their professional holiday, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.
"Dear colleagues! Let me congratulate you on your professional holiday! Each of you, at the call of your heart, tied your destiny with this noble profession, which requires deep knowledge, exceptional diligence, high dedication, sensitivity, responsiveness and humanism. Health workers are a strategic resource of our country," the minister wrote on Facebook.
According to him, over 2 000 operations are performed in Kazakhstan every day, over 420 000 people are served in polyclinics and 18 000 ambulance calls are taken.
"All these years, healthcare in Kazakhstan has been dynamically developing - the volume of high-tech care is increasing, new perinatal centers are built, innovative developments are introduced. Thanks to this, rare and complex diseases that could not be fought quite recently are successfully diagnosed and cured today," Tsoi added.
The minister noted that recent years have seen an improvement in two of the most important indicators in Kazakhstan - rise in life expectancy and rise in the birth rate.
“And behind each of these achievements, of course, there is a titanic work of health workers. The pandemic made us reconsider many values, especially change the attitude to health workers. They risk their own health in order to save the life of every patient," the Minister added.
He thanked the medical workers for their invaluable contribution to the protection of Kazakhstanis’ health and wished them and their families happiness, health, success, peace and prosperity.
