At the plenary session in Majilis, the deputies called on the Health Minister to clarify whether a person who received only one component of the vaccine is considered vaccinated, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.

Thus, Larisa Pavlovets, stating that an additional 265 billion tenge is allocated in the revised budget for the fight against Covid-19, expressed concern about the vaccination rate of the population.

“At the government meeting, it was announced that 2 million people would be vaccinated in the first half of the year, and 6 million people were planned to be vaccinated by the end of the year. On May 4, 1 million 422 204 people were vaccinated with the first component, 347 774 people with the second component. Why am I talking about this? Because, as a doctor, I know that a person who has received two doses of the vaccine is considered vaccinated. Any infectious disease specialist will tell you this. Therefore, based on the coverage rate with the second component of 347,474 people, there is no certainty that 6 million people will be vaccinated by the end of the year, "the deputy said.

As the Minister of Health Alexei Tsoi confirmed, the Government did indeed express its readiness to ensure access to vaccinations for about 2 million citizens of the country in April.

"We brought 2.3 million doses of vaccines to Kazakhstan. Today, about 1.4 million citizens have been vaccinated with the first component. We have a voluntary vaccination, ensured maximum availability, there is a vaccine in all regions of Kazakhstan. Vaccination is, in principle, at a sufficient pace. The second component inevitably follows the first. That is, when citizens have made the first component, the second component catches up in 21 days, or in a maximum of 45 days. In any case, our citizens will receive the second component, "said Aleksey Tsoi.

The answer of the minister did not satisfy the deputies. Larisa Pavlovets asked to clarify whether a person who has received only one component of the vaccine is considered vaccinated or not.

According to the Health Minister, if the vaccine is two-component, then two vaccines are considered a full course.

“That is, we can consider a person vaccinated if he received two doses?” Majilis speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin asked to clarify.

Having finally received an affirmative answer, the speaker asked how many people in the country received the second component. According to Aleksey Tsoi, today 400 000 citizens have been vaccinated with the second component of the vaccine.

Nigmatulin urged the Health Ministry to give a clear and specific picture regarding vaccination in the country.

"When you go to briefings at the CCS, meet with journalists, please be clear about the numbers that exist. This balancing with figures has already unbalanced everyone. You just said 21 days, one of your deputies says, 90 days. You are now talking for a maximum of 45 days. We have completely confused everyone. Look at your diplomas, you are all healthcare organizers - so organize vaccination! Because one information comes out, then another, completely different. And the population does not have a clear understanding, "Nurlan Nigmatulin resented.
