Drug production in Kazakhstan increased by 20% All rights reserved.

Local production of drugs on the market increases. Kazakhstan pharmaceutical companies issued 1,9 thousand tons of medicines within two months, which is 20,5% more than the year before. Almaty and Karaganda regions realized capital gains for more than 70%, BNews.kz reported.

 

In January 2016, Kazakhstani producers provided the market with antibiotics by 26,8%, other drugs - 42,3%. For comparison, in January 2014, the figure was 20,8 and 24,1%, respectively, Energyprom.kz reports.

However, more than half of the country's pharmaceutical market is still imported. Imports amounted to 2,1 tons of antibiotics and 1,3 thousand tons of other drugs.

In January-February 2016, Taiwan is the leading antibiotics importer (30,4%), next is India (23,4%) and China (22,9%). Germany occupies first place as an importer of other drugs (20,9%), next- India (13,9%), France (7,8%), Ukraine (6,5%) and Slovenia (6,3%).
